RE: PRESS RELEASE – LANCE LAVENDER SENTENCE
Lance Lavender, 57, from Red Hook, was sentenced on August 3rd to 1 1/3 to 4 years in state prison and ordered to pay restitution totaling $105,800.00 to two victims, for his conviction to the charge of Scheme to Defraud in the 1st degree.
Lavender conned a local Ulster County resident into giving him money by claiming he was a financial expert and realtor who could help her consolidate her debt and manage her financial affairs. Unbeknownst to this victim, Lavender also defrauded her elderly father by claiming that his daughter urgently needed financial assistance.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jessica Mila Schutzman. Lavender is represented by Jeremiah Flaherty, Esq. of Kerhonkson.
